The Rappahannock Library Board met a week early this month in order to discuss items the board planned to request from the Friends of the Library and so that they could make their request in time for the FOL’s next meeting.
The board will request funding for a faster modem and additional memory for the Internet station at the library and a media system for the podium in the Jamieson Room which would include a microphone on a stand, a lapel microphone, cording system and amplifier. They discussed asking for an overhead projector and a slide projector but decided those items should come out of the library’s furniture and equipment funds. Replacement of the chairs in the periodical section will also be made by using those funds.
Board president E. Franklin Warner also reported that the base of the plaque in front of the flag pole has been damaged somehow and needs to be repaired. He said he thought it an appropriate matter for the buildings and grounds committee to look into and see about the cost of repair.
