Although I am> aesthetically inclined, I draw a distinction between the “look” of things and what they really are. Rappahannock County is a rural county, not a planner’s or architect’s fantasy of one. And, though we are in this county replete with mountains, rivers, woods, pastures, wildlife, native plants, charmingly authentic villages and farm houses, that which we see is only part of the ineffable nature of this county: it is also the very life itself of the land and its inhabitants which is of great value.
