Correction
In the story on the town council last week it was stated that council member Steve Critzer had “staked out a piece of land” on the property now belonging to Randall Updike. Critzer did not say that. Instead he gave a brief history of the Mason’s and the cemetery and what had transpired with the Updikes. He reported to the council that Gibson Whorton, a mason, had previously taken care of the cemetery and Whorton had talked to Randall Updike and many years ago staked out an area that would allow for expansion of the cemetery. Critzer said the Updikes would be interested in talking to the town or having the town contact them down the road if the town acquires the cemetery.
Cathy Lou Smith was incorrectly identified in a photo credit for an RAA photo she took.
Shannon Lowry, owner of Southern Grace in Sperryville along with her husband Ken, was incorrectly identified as Sharon in a photo cutline.
