Last Thursday evening,
author Ed McMahon presented a talk, illustrated with slides, to a rather well attended Sperryville Gateway Project meeting. Mr. McMahon, who is an economic developer, land use planner and attorney, showed dozens and dozens of images of gateway communities across the U.S.
Some images were of strip malls, billboard congested roadsides, neon-lit fast food joints, and 40 foot wide streets crowded with lackluster, identical houses.
