Sperryville area and the commission must adopt the change so that property-owners there can continue to qualify for flood insurance and so that the matter can go to public hearing. The motion was made to adopt the change in regulations and was approved. The matter will go to public hearing on June 17.
The commission also approved the final draft of the Comprehensive Plan, with updated graphs and charts, so that would also go forward for public hearing next month.
Junk reminded the other members that each commissioner should work on finding a person to serve on a committee to re-look at the Conservation Zoning District Restrictions. Junk named Sperryville resident Don Audette as his choice to serve on the committee.
On its project to review the county’s zoning regulations, the commission decided to begin looking at the uses allowed for each matrix listed and where the uses are allowed in the regulations at its next meeting.
Raymond Brown was introduced as the commission’s newest member by Ron Frazier. Brown represents the Jackson District.
