Scarlet is a 5-month-old female sheltie-mix found on Quail Ridge subdivision and looking for a good home. Also up for adoption are: Shelley, a tan and white female 3-year-old beagle found in Woodville, on U.S. 522, and very sweet; Abbey, a female tan and white 3-year-old beagle found on Slate Mills Road; the shelter also has several free hounds available to approved homes and seven lab-mix puppies, all colors, male and female, for adoption. New shelter hours are Monday, Tuesday, Friday and Saturday, 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. Closed Wednesday and Sunday. Evenings by appointment. It is located near the county landfill.
