Since opening last Spring, the Fine Equine Stables near Amissville is gradually finding its stride. Owned by Brandy and Cal Clark, the stable is positioning itself as a serious contender in regional point-topoint racing.
With a small string of Thoroughbreds and Irish rider/trainer Bryan McDonald, the farm is finally “finding out what its niche is,” explained Cal Clark. After more than a year of doing “a little bit of everything,” from breeding and training to buying, boarding, and offering lessons, the stable is “trying to focus on two or three things” and doing them well. “You have to realize your limitations,” Clark continued. “Size isn’t an issue as much as focus. Bryan helped us do that. He literally saved us.”
