is rescinded

In addition to its lengthy discussion of the school bond issue, the board of supervisors addressed other items of importance at its meeting last week. They were as follows:
• The board rescinded its previous resolution for the paving of Four Springs Road and tabled the issue pending further investigation. A property owner on the road owns land in the current subdivision and land bordering the road. Upgrading of the road would permit further subdivision which could result in double the number of lots now allowed. The board will discuss the matter with residents of the road.
• The inspection of the landfill resulted in an excellent rating for the county. The bid specifications for the closure of cells one and two are approved and the bid date extended to Sept. 24 at the request of the bidders.
• A resolution was passed to allow Social Services here to be a claimant agency for debt collection.
• On this issue of delinquent taxes, the board directed County Attorney Peter Luke to pick the most marketable properties, for which delinquent taxes are owed, and sell them in order that the county may recover those funds.
• It was reported that County Administrator John McCarthy and supervisor Robert Anderson will attend the Planning Disjunct 9 annual meeting Sept.
