the first period Rappahannock was up 20-4 and at the half it was 29-16. Sonya Wigington was outstanding both defensively and offensively. Clarke pressed hard in the second half of the game but it wasn’t enough. At the end of the third period it was 35-18 and the final was 43-35.
The junior varsity girls had a hard time with Clarke at both games. They lost to Clarke away 38-14 and at home 42-13. Kelly Atkins, Robyn Pivarnik, Amy Clinedinst, Amanda Weakley and Amber Welch started for Rappahannock. Pivarnik, who is very quick, made some outstanding plays.
The teams play Luray away on Sept. 17 at 6 p.m. and Page away on Sept. 22 at 6 p.m. Their next home game is Sept. 28 against Strasburg at 6 p.m.
