Jumping well ahead into the
21st century, the Virginia Steeplechase Association’s new web site is now up and running.
Created at Warrenton’s Piedmont Press and Graphics by design artists Paula Gulan and Dawn Haney, the site features electronic data, pictures, a link page to related horse racing sites and more.
“Many of Virginia’s steeplechase races already had their own web pages,” said Haney, who is also a successful event rider. “So we created a ‘related sites’ link so people can jump straight to a steeplechase site.
“We also included other sites of interest to the horseman such as the Blood-Horse magazine and the Thoroughbred Times.”
Haney added that even more links can be found on the “top 100 thoroughbred racing sites” icon found on the related sites page. A wealth of information can be accessed from the VSA page.
From the home page, users can check the season’s calendar; view current results from local steeplechase meets (which Haney said will be updated each week during racing season); file for membership; check a map for directions to all of Virginia’s races; read the history of the association and jump to a number of related sites.
