A detailed list of reasons for locating the high school addition as shown in the graphic at right was provided to the supervisors.
Jeff Chambers of Hayes Large Architects made the presentations at the school board meeting and at the meeting of the supervisors. He noted that the price was not fixed and would not be so until bids were received and a contract approved. He said there were ways to “trim costs” but did not explain what those were or go into any detail concerning how they might be cut.
Board of supervisors chairman Charles K. “Pete” Estes said the approval of the resolution would get the ball rolling.
“We have made no real decision to borrow at this time, or to approve authorization of bonds or disapprove issuance of bonds. This merely maintains the county’s eligibility to participate if the county decides to do it,” he said.
