Emory Hawes Martin, 78, died Sept. 15 in Washington, Va. Mr. Martin lived in the town of Washington for 10 years. He lived for 34 years in Delaware with his wife Dorothy Wright Martin until her death on Aug. 10, 1987. They were married for 46 years.
Mr. Martin served three years in the Army during WWII obtaining the rank of Sgt. First Class and was called back during the Korean Conflict for 11 months. For 45 years he worked for Southern States Cooperative and at the time of
