McGlothlin reunion planned
\ Relatives and friends are invited to attend the annual McGlothlin reunion to be held Saturday, June 19 from noon to 6 p.m. at the Rappahannock Park on US 211. Bring old photos to share; also your musical instrument for after lunch entertainment. Amissville’s carnival next week
Amissville Volunteer Fire and Rescue Company will hold its annual carnival June 23 through June 26. As is usual, box suppers will be available on Thursday during and following the parade. Food donations including potato salad, deviled eggs, baked beans and cakes will be needed. Cash contributions will help with purchases of chicken, bread, boxes, etc. Please call Sarah Latham at 937-4410 and help her with this project. She has just had another birthday and needs all the help she can get.
Children’s parade set
Children in the area art invited to “decorate their wheels” and join in the fun of the annual “Parade of Wheels” at the 4th of July celebration in the Town of Washington. Wagons, wheelbarrows, skate boards, roller blades, bicycles, tricycles and strollers are all part of the festive parade this year. Prizes will be awarded to those the judges consider “the most patriotically decorated.” The parade is open to children from birth to 14 years of age. Lineup for the parade starts at 4 p.m. behind the jail. The parade starts at 4:30 p.m. For further information, contact Ellen Manson, parade organizer, 675-1349.
