Mashburn was charged with driving in violation of a restricted permit, driving while intoxicated and refusal to take a breathalizer test.

Later that same night. Deputy J.C. Welch arrested Robert Tibbs, 40, of Shenandoah and charged him with driving while intoxicated and refusal to take a breathalizer.

In the early morning hours of June 13, Deputy Connie Compton arrested 38 yearold Robert Rish of Woodville. Rish was charged with driving while intoxicated.

Traffic accidents

Virginia State Police reported on details of two separate accidents last week.

On June 11 at approximately 9 a.m., a 17 year-old female driving a 1995 Toyota 4Runner pulled out onto U.S. 522/Route 231 in Sperryville in front of a 1993 Ford pickup driven by Louis Dodson, 53, of Sperryville. Dodson went off the road to avoid the Toyota, but was unable to avoid the car.

Damage to the Toyota was estimated at $2500, and damage to Dodson’s pickup was estimated at $200. The driver and a passenger in the Toyota were injured. The driver of the Toyota was charged with failure to yield right-of-way. "

At approximately 11:15 on June 12, Edward Austin of Jessup, Md. wrecked his 1995 Harley Davidson motorcycle on U.S. 211 west of Route 667. Austin went into the curve too fast, left the road and hit an embankment.

Austin was injured in the crash. Damage to his bike was estimated at $12,000. He has been charged with reckless driving.
