IA a photograph Mrs. Edward Haggerty holds a copper stirrup nip, one of the many items which will be on display at her home, Roundabout Farm when it is opened this weekend, Oct. 25 and 26 for the annual house tour and flower sale sponsored by the Episcopal Church Women of Bromfield Parish. The cup has two handles, one for the person serving the drink to hold as she hands it to the mounted rider, who grasps the other. Roundabout offers many rare objects and antiques, and in addition to the house, the stables and bams will be open to those interested. The C&P Telephone Company will hold an Open House at their Sperryville central office on Oct. 24. F. Wayne Dementi, local manager, stated that C&P will “open the doors to all interested Sperryville and Rappahannock County residents so that each may see exactly what happens when he dials a telephone number.” Also, C&P is introducing, for the first time in Sperryville, a mobile exhibit trailer which was designed to acquaint the public with the history and development of the communications industry. Sperryville Comer Store was advertising a steak special, sirloin at 99 cents a pound; t-bone at $1.09 per pound and porterhouse at $1.19 a pound. Other specials included red grapes at 19 cents a pound; three boxes of Duncan Hines cake mixes for only one dollar and a 14 ounce t . *"
