His other two books are biographies of Confederate generals. “Defender of the Valley: Brigadier General John D. Imboden, CSA,” is the story of the Southern cavalry commander who operated in the Shenandoah Valley. “The Confederacy’s Forgotten Son: Major General James L. Kemper, CSA,” tells the life story of a Madison County native who became a Confederate infantry commander, was grievously wounded at the Battle of Gettysburg, but survived to become a postwar governor of Virginia.

Coffee and dessert will be offered at $5 per person, and Mr. Woodward will be available to sign copies of his books.
