My qualifications as your Sheriff include but are not limited to: • Selection and appointment as Sheriff by a panel of four Circuit Court Judges • 25+ years law enforcement experience • 11 years service as Crime Analyst • Certified Field Training Officer • Criminal Investigations expertise with supervisory responsibilities • Developed pro-active countermeasures to deter regional criminal activities • Designed automated analysis systems to track crime and traffic problems • Grant writing experience in obtaining federal and state funds for your Sheriffs
Office; an essential skill that pays for needed services without tax increases • First police officer to receive Unusual Ability Award for innovative programs • Recipient of Meritorious Service Award for exemplary law enforcement service • Recipient of Meritorious Action Award for performance “above and beyond the
call of duty” in the line of fire.
I am proud to be a citizen of Rappahannock County and a native Virginian. My life's experiences from decorated military service in Viet Nam to over 25 years in Virginia law enforcement, have well prepared me to lead your Sheriffs Office into the next millennium. I am not content to rest with our 1999 successes and will continue to be pro-active in providing services to the community.
