“Yea, though 1 walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I fear no evil; for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff, they comfort me.” Psalm 23:4. The psalmist David knew the value of the shepherd. The life of the shepherd belonged to his sheep. If they wandered off blindly, his eyes were always open. If they lost their footing and stumbled on rocky ground, he rescued them with the crook of his staff. He cared for the sheep and the lambs. One way or the other, he saw to it that his flock was safe. The shepherd knew they depended upon his knowledge and skill. Truly, the Lord is our Shepherd, for He knows we are not aware oT the pitralls and the rocky paths that we may blindly wander onto each day. We need only have the faith and God, our Shepard, will give us peace of mind. Become one of God’s fold as you worship with His flock at your local church or synagogue. He will “watch over” you.
