With year 2000 right around the corner, the U.S. Navy Memorial in Washington, D.C. is encouraging naval service personnel to enroll in the Navy Log by Nov. 11.
Active service or veterans are welcome to enroll and can be from the Navy, the Coast Guard, the Marines and the Merchant Marine.
“Enroll in the century in which you served,” urges Rear Admiral Hank McKinney, president of the Navy Memorial Foundation.
The Log has thus far collected names and service information of 238,000 naval personnel.
Most of the names enrolled are of living persons, but a large number are of deceased veterans enrolled by their descendants or by surviving
