Head Wrestling Coach Jim Wells took his lone entry to Salem on Friday, March 1. Senior Gamer Smythe wrestling at 145 pounds, earned a medal in the Virginia Single “A” State Championships.
Sixteen wrestlers, the best four from all four Regions in the state, made up each weight class at the tournament. He lost his first match to senior Trevor Wind from Essex High School — the eventual Champion in the 145 class.
