NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING TO AMEND TOWN OF WASHINGTON BUDGET FOR

FY 2001/2002

KINDLY TAKE NOTICE that the Town Council of Washington, Virginia will hold a public hearing on March 13, 2002 beginning at 7:30 p.m. at the Town Hall to consider an amendment to the FY 2001/2002 budget to allow the Town to borrow up to $215,000.00 at an interest rate of not greater than of 5.00% and to expend for principal and interest payments and closing expenses sums not to exceed $50,000.00 for the 2001/2002 fiscal year. The purpose of the expenditures is improvements to the Town water system. Some of the improvements to the water system contemplated are donstruction of a new reservoir tank and demolition of the existing tank to allow the Town to increase water storage capacity for fire and other emergencies.

All persons are invited to attend and present their views.
