• Speaking of celebrations: plans are underway for this year’s Medieval Banquet, which is held every March. Grades 3—7 dress in period costumes, play medieval games, and sample the cuisine of the day (meat and turnips!). It’s an evening filled with fun, as the students re-enact the celebrations of that time.
• Are you the Picasso we’re looking for? We need an Art teacher to volunteer for the third grade students on Wednesdays from 12:15 to 1 p.m. Our beloved Mrs. Callaway can’t help out anymore, so we would love to speak with anyone who is ready to tackle third graders and their art projects!
• Students in grades 3—8 took the National Mythology Exam on Tuesday. As a part of their studies of Mythology, the exam is given to all lower school students every March. It will be several weeks from now before the school receives the scores, comparing WCDS students to students nationwide.
• March is definitely a busy month for WCDS. On March 12, all Latin students will take the National Latin Exam. On the 14th, we celebrate the Medieval Banquet, and on the 24th, it’s Open House at Wakefield Country Day School for new families.
We host the first lacrosse game of the season on March 25 against Seton. Also on that day, Latin and Greek students in grades 9—12 take part in the Medusa Mythology Exam. The ERB tests start March 25 through 28; these tests are the
