On Wednesday of last week, the members of the House of Delegates were treated to a pleasant and unique experience on the floor of the House:Wre were serenaded bv none other than the renowned group of country singing Virginians, the Statler Brothers. Therein is a story.

The most acclaimed group in country music history-, the four singing Staunton residents have decided to conclude almost forty years of performing concerts in halls across the country. They will bring the final curtain down on their touring careers this November. To honor the careers of Don Reid, Harold Reid, Phil Balsley and Jimmy Fortune, Delegate Chris Saxman sponsored a commending resolution, which passed the House and Senate.

The Delegates gave the Statlers a raucous, standing , ovation, some members pounding their desks, after the Clerk read the resolution. In accepting the accolades of the Delegates,
