A total of $475 in cash awards plus official certificates of “Musical Ability Recognition” were contributed to participants by the Lions Club with the purpose of “Promoting cultural and educational opportunities for the musically talented youth” of our community.

As in past bland contests the highest scoring instrumentalist and vocalist are selected to represent our county at the regional competition with an opportunity to win prizes and scholarships at District and State levels. Our Lions Club will be represented by sisters, Michelle Fegeas, Soprano and Nicole Fegeas, Pianist.

You may notioe that a total of nine musicians played instruments, primarily piano, and that only five were vocalists. Even more unusual was the fact that only one of the 14 was a young man, who played his snare drum both bravely and in uniform. Surely even young athletes could learn to sing “Take Me Out to the Ball Game”.
