Seasonal celebration planned

On Oct. 25, 26 and 27 from 10 am to 5 p.m., the Blue Ridge Cutting Board Company will host a seasonal celebration and gift event at the gazebo at Mountain Springs on U. S. 211 west of Sperryville.

The Blue Ridge Cutting Board Company handcrafts endgrain butcher block cutting boards from local hardwoods (walnut, cherry, maple, red oak, ash and hickory) in a log cabin just outside of Sperryville. This will be a great opportunity for folks to do some Christmas shopping and to enjoy free mulled cider and other treats.

Rabies Clinic to be held

The Rappahannock County Animal Welfare League and the County Animal Shelter, located at the County Landfill, is offering a Rabies Clinic conducted by Dr. Renee Nolan on Saturday, Oct. 26. from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Cost is $10 per shot. Members of the RAWL staff will be on hand to assist anyone interested in adopting a new pet. There are lots of great dogs to meet! Pre-adoption forms will be accepted. Join Jones for breakfast

On Sunday. Oct. 27. Ben 'Cooter" Jones, Democratic candidate for the 7th District Representative's seat, will be at the Washington Fire Hall, beginning at 8 am.

Sunday will be his last official campaign stop in Rappahannock before the election on Nov. 5. There is no charge for breakfast and no speeches.
