20 years of
lights, love will
glow again
The lights on Culpeper Regional Hospital Auxiliary's Lights of Love tree will glow again this holiday season, bringing honor and remembrance to special individuals while raising money for important hospital projects.
A contribution of $10 will illuminate a red light in memory or a white light in honor of those who the donor chooses, says Joan Proctor, Auxiliary president. A light in the star signifies a donation of $50 or more.
According to Lights of Love Chairperson Sally Canavan, each recipient recognized by a donation is sent a card announcing the gift, and their names and those of the donors are listed in dedication books on displayed at he hospital throughout the holiday season.
This year's proceeds will be used to purchased a patient transport van for the hospital.
The Lights of love program has raised nearly $210,000 for hospital projects during the event's 19 seasons. Items purchased have included equipment for the rehabilitation center, the intensive care units and renovation of the hospital chapel.
