Smoot, 55, of Sperryville died Tuesday, Oct. 15 at Culpeper Regional Hospital.

Mr. Smoot attended Fellowship Assembly of God Church.

He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Mary Jane Smoot, two daughters, Mary Ann Frazier and her husband, Eddie Lee “Tiger” Frazier of Washington and Linda Kay Baldwin and her husband, Richie of Sperryville and two grandchildren, Chad Lee Frazier and Katie Baldwin.

Additional survivors include his sisters and brothers, Mary Edna Dennis of Castleton, Russell Smoot of South Carolina, Mildred Riley of Winchester, Peggy Parmley of Illinois and Bunnie Smoot of Maryland.

He is also survived by aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends.

He was preceded in death by him mother and father, Harvey French Smoot and Cecil Smoot and three brothers, Tommy Smoot of Delaware, Taylor Smoot of South Carolina and Harold Smoot of Washington.

A funeral service was held on Friday, Oct 18 at Found and Sons Chapel with Rev. John K. Burke and Rev. Joel Cress officiating. Interment was at the Sperryville Cemetery.
