SUPERSONIC: The North American F-86 Sabre was the first supersonic fighter in the U. S. military aviation inventory. A robust aircraft, it was armed with six guns in the nose, and could carry rockets and bombs under its wings. It proved to be a powerful match for the MiG-15 fighters its pilots encountered over Korea. This example was assigned to the USAF 116th Squadron.
