They are guilty of the worst kind of hypocritical rationalization. You can’t have it both ways.
In 1968, I was a Marine Corps grunt in Vietnam. You cannot separate the soldier from the mission. By making your self-serving statements you risk undermining the morale of the very troops you claim to support.
Finally. I must disagree with my fellow veterans who are protesting. Anyone who has experienced combat will never forget it. Vietnam was a hellhole. It was made worse due to mismanagement from the top.
