As a young girl in California, Arbelbide loved horses and remembers “Black Beauty” as one of her first favorite books. She also loved humorous stories, tall tales and folk tales like those of “Pecos Bill” and “Paul Bunyan.”
Arbelbide wants to enhance the library’s science collection and to focus more attention on career development. She thinks it is essential to draw from the wide pool of human expertise and knowledge she sees right here in Rappahannock County.
“The Rappahannock Library is really a unique place, not only because it is in a beautiful area and we have amazing support in the form of volunteers and community residents, but because of the diversity of people and their professions — the farmers, the teachers,” she said.
“We are so blessed to have the wealth of talent and resources that we do here. When you’re around people who love what they’re doing, life is really fun.”
