Hearthstone's auction
Hearthstone School's annual Hootenanny will become a Hoot 'n Auction on April 12 at 6:30 p.m. at the Washington fire hall, with a between-set auction of high quality goods and services joining the musical performances. A highlight will be a bachelor auction of some of Rappahannock's most eligible men. Persons who have items and services to donate, and interested bachelors, should call the school at 987-9212, or Diane Bardwell at 987-8553. Suggested donation will be $7 at the door.
Parenting classes on teens
A parenting workshop on how to raise teenagers and communicate freely with them will be held on Wednesdays. April 9 through May 14, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Rappahannock County Library. The six-week workshop is sponsored by the Department of Social Services at no cost to parents. Advance registration is required. Services for Len t
The Washington Baptist Church will host ecumenical services for Lent on each Wednesday through April 9. Nearby Catholic. Episcopal, Baptist and Methodist churches are participating. A pot-luck dinner at 6:15 p.m. begins each gathering, followed by a one hour Lenten service which begins at 7 p.m. Nursery care is available. The public is invited.
Spring cemetery cleanup
Spring is here and time for a general cleanup day at the Sperryville Cemetery on Saturday, April 5 at 8:30 a m. Bring whatever tools you have that may be of use in cleanup and trash removal, trimming grass around headstones and markers, pruning shrubs and trees.Cold drinks and snacks will be provided.
