Lions Club readies for annual spring auction

Were you beginning to think our long winter would never end? The official spring equinox came and went.
The rolling hills and open pastures are beginning to show a little more green each day and pink color is appearing on the top branches of maple trees. Daffodils are bursting into bloom as is the always dependable forsythia.
Mother Nature hasn’t forgotten after all. That little snow was an April Fool’s joke.
Time to catch Spring Fever and on April 6 we have to get ready to “spring forward,” when we can find the energy.
It’s also time for the 2003 Lions auction.
We’ve scheduled this year’s auction a little earlier. It’s set for Saturday, May 3 at 5 p.m. at the Bill Payne Auction Gallery on Route 211 in Amissville.
