The Troop put their lashing skills to work by constructing an entrance gateway that was to be judged later in the weekend during campsite inspections.

After an evening of socializing around the campfire, the Scouts turned in for the night anticipating a day of fun and competition with the other 22 troops in the District.

After reveille and cooking breakfast for themselves, the members of the three patrols set off in different directions to compete in the first of eight events. These included firebuilding, a log drag race, first aid skills competition, ice rescue, a snow ski relay race, an orienteering course, and a knot tying competition.

The patrols did a great job of competing in the Klondike Derby race, with Scout “dog” teams under the encouragement of the mush
