Amissville native
Julia Frances Poe, 97, of Amissville died on March 26 at her residence.
She was born April 21, 1905 to the late James Norbome Cropp and Martha Elizabeth Cropp.
Mrs. Poe was a homemaker and a member of the Amissville United Methodist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lloyd Ashlon Poe, one son, Sherman Poe, a brother, Alan Bernard Crop, two grandchildren and one great grandchild.
Mrs. Poe is survived by four daughters: Altha Mae Silvey and Frances Elizabeth Carter both from Amissville, and Olive Gay Ray of Richmond, Shirley Arlene Pullen of Warrenton, and three sons, Roger Gerald Poe and Merrill Randolph Poe both from Amissville, and Alan Ashton Poe from Warrenton.
Additional survivors include 16 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held on March 28 at Amissville United Methodist Church with Rev. John Haynes officiating. Interment followed at the Amissville United Methodist Church cemetery.
