Relay for Life kicks off
The first meeting of the Rappahannock County Chapter of the American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life team captains will be held at 7 p.m., Thursday, Feb. 10 at the Washington Baptist Church. Anyone thinking about participating as a team captain in the relay is invited to attend. Overall plans and preparations for the upcoming event will be discussed.
Carleton Coon at the library
RAAC welcomes Carleton Coon at the Rappahannock Library, Friday, Feb. 11 at 8 p.m. Coon will talk about his new book, “One Planet, One People—Beyond Us vs. Them”. Sponsored by the Rappahannock Association for the Arts and the Community (RAAC). Admission is free.
Ragged Mountain Hike
The Ragged Mountain Resource Center will be coordinating a hike on Saturday, Feb. 12 to the Buck Hollow and Buck Ridge Trails off Route 211 in the Shenandoah National Park. Interested participants may meet at Mountainside Market (540)987-9100) between 8:30-9 a.m. and the group will carpod and caravan from there. Participants should bring layered clothing suitable to the weather of the day, and nourishment for themselves.
