An interesting one was the exact geographical center of the county, which, according to the commissioners, is a point about two miles southeast of Washington, the choice of Washington was partially based on there being a village already in existence with sixty homes and “over 300 souls.” Page Moffett, an Eagle Scout of Washington Troop 64, has been chosen from the Shenandoah Area Council of Boy Scouts to attend a meeting and historic tour in Richmond Friday and Saturday. The group of scouts from all over the state will tour historic places in and near Richmond and will visit with the Governor. The meeting will be held at the Richmond Hotel.

It’s a woman’s world —especially in the post offices of Rappahannock County, where of the eight post offices seven of the postmasters are women. Mary Curtis was officially designated postmaster of the U S. Post Office in Flint Hill on Saturday morning. She has been officer in charge since the retirement early this year of Mabel Lillard and had been clerk in that office for the past five years.
