Rappahannock News Staff Photos/Jan Clatterbuck WASHINGTON — Strong winds rocked all of Rappahannock County over the weekend but especially hard hit was the Town of Washington. “It feels worse than Hurricane Isabel,” said a distressed Michelle Schwartz on Sunday morning as a large tree came crashing down on the Ice House.” Sunday morning’s 11 a.m. service at Trinity Episcopal received some unusual sounds as shingles flew off the roof and further down on Fodderstack Road a large tree thundered down. “We were busy all weekend,” said Sheriff Larry Sherertz, “answering calls, chain-sawing trees, and dealing with distressed residents.” Many in the county were without power for several hours.
