each other, and unable to hear due to the loud ATV motors, Ricketts and Tharp struck one another head on at the apex of the curve in the trail. Both drivers were wearing safety helmets. Both men were transported to Fairfax Hospital, where Ricketts died from severe head and chest trauma. Ricketts worked for William A. Hazel Inc. and was engaged to be married to Stacey Burke of Culpeper.
A graveside service will be held on Thursday, January 19 at 2:00 p.m. at Washington Masonic Cemetery in Washington, VA.
