Wakefield Country Day School had mixed success during the past week with both their boys and girls teams splitting their two respective games.

On January 10 in Manassas, the girls got their first Delaney Athletic Conference victory by rallying in the fourth quarter for a 42-34 win over Emmanuel Christian. Chantel Paul led the Owls scoring with 13 points.

The Owls ladies hit the court again on January 12, hosting Mt. Carmel Christian Academy of Luray. Unfortunately, Paul, a junior guard, suffered tom ligaments in her ankle midway through the opening quarter and is likely lost for the year. In Paul’s absence, Caitlin Hammelman tallied 15 points but it wasn’t enough to prevent a 4437 setback to the Warriors. The
