Rebekah Major DeBergh died at Warren Memorial Hospital on Monday, January 16.
Mrs. DeBergh was bom November 20,1922 in Riverton, Virginia. The daughter of Julian Neville and Jean Richards Major. She attended the Warren County Public Schools and graduated from Hollins College in 1943. She was a life-long member of Calvary Episcopal Church singing in its choir for many years. She belonged to the Daughters of the American Revolution, the United Daughters of the Confederacy, Warren Heritage Society, and the Garden Club of Warren County. She had also been a volunteer at the Samuels Public Library and had served on the Board of Trustees.
Mrs. DeBergh was preceded in death by her husband, James Van Lowen DeBergh. She is survived by her children, James Van Lowen DeBergh, Jr., his wife Elizabeth; Rebekah DeBergh Green, her husband Alexander; and Richard Randolph DeBergh, his wife Pamela; her eight grandchildren; her sisters Jean Elizabeth Wilson and Ann Major Moffett.
