A graveside service was held on Wednesday January 4 at Refuge United Methodist Church Cemetery, Stephens
City, with the Rev. John Lock officiating.
Pallbearers were John Gordon, Tbby Gordon, Noah Gordon, Max R. Presgraves Jr., Virgil L. Presgraves III and Virgil L. Presgraves IV.

Robert Phillips Manly, 92, a development aid consultant with expertise in engineering and economics, died Dec. 23 at his home in Huntly.
He had suffered complications from Parkinson’s disease.
Mr. Manly, for several decades a Washington, D.C. resident, entered the field of development aid in the 1950s and worked for several agencies. His first overseas assignment was to Laos, where he spent seven years and helped build the Laos Printing Press. He also had extended assignments in Afghanistan, Guyana and Indonesia as well as other shorter assignments in Africa and Asia before retiring in the late 1980s.
