The obelisk will stand eightfeet tall and will feature the seals of the Army, Marine Corps, Navy, Air Force, Coast Guard, Prisoners of War/Missing in Action and the National Guards and Reserves. Below the seals will be the words, “In God We Trust. The public is trying to close God out of a lot of things,” Post Commander Lee Hitt said. “But God was alive and well in the military.”
All veterans of foreign wars living in Rappahannock County are eligible to join Post 1150. Members include men from the Army, Navy, Air Force, Marine Corps arid Reserves that have fought in wars as far back as World War II and as recent as Afghanistan. The group meets on the second Tuesday of each month at 7:30 p.m. in the Sperryville Fire Hall. Call Post Commander Lee Hitt at 540987-3102 for more information.
