A little birdie

told me so

Surely everyone has had enough snow and ice for a while, yet nothing can we do about it, only complain. We give credit to our weather folks for their predictions which helps greatly, but we also must not forget our “feathered weather creatures,” the birds. As many know in by gone days there were no television reports, so older folks relied on other signs. The little snow birds give good reports too, ask any older person. Sunday morning there must have been hundreds of them in this writers yard and recalling back the words of father, “bad weather is on its way,” and sure enough we’ve had plenty.

Another lady called to say, “a red bird had perched on*her door step for several days,” - another sure sigh of bad weather. So please feed the birds, they have their work cut out for them too.
