Organizations (VANNO) counted just over 200 organizations that had filed with the IRS as nonprofits. Kopjanski noted that if churches, fire and rescue companies and other groups which are too small to file were counted, the number of nonprofits in the five counties may be closer to 400, with some 75 in Rappahannock County alone.
Any and all are welcome to contact the Center, by calling, emailing, or stopping by during the open hours. The Center can help in many ways, not the least of which is simply getting a nonprofit started in the first place.
