the approved 2006-2007 RCPS calendar, the following make-up days will be used for the four days missed last week:
March 1, April 5, June 14, June 15.
(March 1: Early dismissal for both schools at 1:00 for RCHS Parent-Teacher conferences 2:00-5:00 and 6:00-8:00)
Additional make-up days needed for any school closures after Feb. 19 will be used in this order: April 13, April 12, April 11, and April 10.”
Closings and Delays: Early Monday, Feb. 19, we had a number of icy back roads and decided to open two hours late.
At 5:20 a.m. we started calling TV and radio stations to announce a two-hour delayed opening for Feb. 19. We also activated our staff phone trees and notified the Sheriffs Department. A couple of the TV stations made oral announcements for us, but most did not scroll the announcement at the bottom of their screens. Perhaps if larger schools in the metro area had made announcements, Rappahannock’s two-hour delay would have been listed with the rest. Most stations listed our
