Even today, Rappahannock County natives John and Barbara Jenkins refuse to be separated as they spend thenlast days together in the same room at the Evergreen Care Center in Winchester.
“I told him that if we weren’t together^ then I wouldn’t come in here,” Barbara said with a smile.
In September, the Jenkins will have been married for 75 years. They will also both be 92 in April.
John and Barbara do not remember what their courtship was like in the early days.
“It’s getting to be too far back,” John said sadly, after
