Mark Jaster, a mime artist who has appeared al the Kennedy Center and Wolf Trap, is scheduled to appear at Wakefield Country Day School 10 a.m. ir the Leonard M. Cowherd Auditorium. Wakefield is extending an invitation to Rappahannock County families who would like to join them for the performance, subject to seating availability. The performance is appropriate for children in kindergarten through twelfth grade. The presentation, entitled The Maestro,* should last about 30 - 40 minutes and includes comedy with sheet music and a musk stand, a miniature concertina played atop a precarious pile of packages, a conducted clapping routine, and a hat trick finale. Jaster’s work has been described as'.. .using wordless wit, kinetic humor and playful interaction.* Mr. Jaster trained under Marcel Marceau and appeared last year at Chateauville to rave reviews. The Rappahannock Community Housing Partnership (RCHP) will be holding an initial community meeting on March 14 at 7 p.m. at the county Library.
The meeting agenda will include an introductkx to the Rappahannock Community Housing Partnership initiative, including basic concepts, data, and goals, a round table discussion of county wide housing issues, and an Invitation to all interested agencies and community members to join and forge this partnership. on Riparian Buffers Initiative
On Thursday March 15 at 6:30 p.m., you are invited to join a discussion of our 2007 initiative to assist landowners in improving and protecting their streams. The meeting will be in the RappFLOW meeting room in Sperryville, next to the old School house at the comer of Routes 211 and 522.

March 15: Relay for Life meeting
The second meeting for all team captains of the American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life is Thursday, March 15 at 7 p.m. at the Washington Baptist Church. Any one thinking about participating as a Team Captain in the Relay is invited as well, ti you can’t come, send one of your friends or relatives to learn how to become a team captain. The Relay will take place on May 19 and 20 at the Rappahannock County Elementary School. Team captains should be prepared to register and provid their team’s t-shirt sizes at this upcoming meeting. But, it is not too late to learn about becoming a team captain or volunteering other help. Refreshments will be served and door prizes will b awarded.
