Well, there may not be too many visible signs of spring as you look out over the snow and mud covered landscape, but there are indeed signs that spring is just around the comer at the office of the Rappahannock Recreational authority. Applications from runners wanting to take part in this year’s Fodderstack lOKm Classic are already coming in. The Fodderstack race, to be held on April 21, is being run this year for the twenty-ninth time and one of the thirty runners who has already signed up for this year has run every one of those 29 races. Now that says something about the appeal of this race which takes runners through magnificent Rappahannock scenery on the road from Flint Hill to Washington.
This' race, which is the principal means of raising funds to maintain the County Park, will again be sponsored by a longtime supporter, the Inn at Little Washington. The Griffin Tavern in Flint Hill is also a key supporter of the race this year, along with the Blue Rock and the Rappahannock National Bank. The Inn is providing funds for the commemorative Tshirts, the Tavern is sponsoring
