Amissville United Methodist Church will be hosting Thursday evening covered dish dinners, followed by programs relating to the season. This will occur over a period of five weeks. Dinner will begin at 6 p.m. on each of these occasions. Information for the first three is as follows:

Hosted by Washington Baptist Church, Community Lenten Services will continue each Wednesday through March 28. This year’s theme is “JOHN 16”. Participating in each service are the Methodist Churches (of Flint Hill, Sperryville and Willis Chapel); Trinity Episcopal; St. Peter’s Catholic and Reynolds and Washington Baptist. Each service begins with a pot-luck dinner at 6:15, followed by worship at 7 p.m. Child care, also sponsored cooperatively by the churches, is provided free of charge! A passover seder meal led by Mr. Dennis Karp of Chosen people Ministries will be observed at the Washington Baptist Church on Sunday, March 11, at 6 p.m. and the public is invited. The symbolic meanings of the various items of the Passover feast will be explained as well as their relationship to the Last Supper that Jesus celebrated with his disciples. Brady Rochester family from South Carolina will be at Gid Brown Bible Baptist Church, in Washington, on March 18, for the morning services. There will be special singing and a nursery will be provided. Pastor John Burke invite everyone to attend.
