library, work, or a friend’s house; a safe connection to our beautiful back roads for outdoor enthusiasts; a huge boost for tourism; and a safe and healthy opportunity to exercise. This is a long-term investment that would benefit our entire community for generations to come.
The stories and even the name “Rediviva” insist this place can thrive. I’m not sure this bridge should be destroyed. If it was safe for cars last year, perhaps it can be maintained for pedestrians and cyclists of tomorrow. Not only may such a formidable barrier be unnecessary, but there can be a new future for the bridges of Rediviva. These memories beg for one. A bike route is the perfect way to connect them. The bridge, if maintained, could be a great asset if we are ever going to make it happen. Let’s take another look at this bridge before we tear it down.
